FIRM is excited to announce that we have been awarded two grants over the last few weeks! Please read more below for more detailed information:
Asian and Pacific Islander American Health Forum (APIAHF) Project I CAN
FIRM was awarded as one of just eight organizations from throughout the United States for the Project I Can grant. This grant funded organizations from as far as New York and Pennsylvania to one other grantee right here in California. The Project I CAN grant focuses specifically on advocating for increased opportunities for physical activity for children 0-8 from the Asian American/Pacific Islander (AAPI) population in the United States. FIRM will be working specifically on increasing access to parks and greenspace for those from the Southeast Asian community here in Fresno. We are excited to begin this project and look forward to sharing on the progress of this important work! We also would like to thank APIAHF on selecting FIRM to do this project and for bringing resources into the Central Valley for the AAPI community.
PG&E Ethnic Media Outreach Project
FIRM was awarded a grant from PG&E to fund ethnic media outreach in the Central Valley. This grant will fund programming on Hmong television, Hmong radio and Laotian radio throughout the rest of 2015. This grant is essential for the Southeast Asian community on receiving information on FIRM programs, community resources, upcoming events, health information and much more. PG&E’s partnership will allow for information to reach thousands of Southeast Asian community members over the next 6 months. FIRM would like to thank PG&E for their support and we look forward to more partnership opportunities in the future!
